2009 is an important year for our province. On 11 October, Jozef De Veuster from Tremelo, better known as Father Damien, will be canonised and become “Saint Damien of Molokai”. He wrote history, and remains a daily inspiration. Schools, squares and churches bear his name. There are books, films and statues based on his life and work. Today, many volunteers still emulate him.

The province of Flemish Brabant is keen to play its part. This website provides information about Damien the person, the many initiatives during this celebratory year and the latest news on Damien. Visit the blog and share your opinion.
